I left a note, but I'll mention it here too!  A lot of interesting ideas came up while I did research for my inquiry topic, so I may be adding or possibly closing in my focus on fewer ideas as I create my presentation.

Exit Slip: How to Contact 'Real World of Teaching and Learning' & Focusing Topic

Plans for getting in contact with the 'real world of teaching and learning':

  • After learning that there is a school for the deaf in Burnaby, I'm going to try and get in contact with administration, teachers, or other staff at the school.  
  • Upon more research, I'll try to coordinate more conversations with people in the deaf community.

Focusing Topic:
  • Depending on the research I come across, I may combine the first all three of my concepts: 
    • Is ASL the predominant language used amongst the deaf community?  Size of community?
    • What research exists on how deaf children communicate at home? With their peers?
    • How well do deaf students integrate into the school system?  What have their experiences been like?
